Murano La Moleria. Coldworkers' workshop in Murano. Carving, grinding, polishing.

Pietro and Riccardo Ferro

Pietro and Riccardo are between the best engravers and cold-workers in Murano island. They started working in the cold-work shop "La Moleria" of their father Paolo, engraver for some of the most famous international glass artists as Lino Tagliapietra

Pietro and Riccardo collaborate with preeminent glass artists as Davide Salvadore, Philip and Monica Baldwin, Silvano Rubino, Alessandro Casson, Paolo Scarpa, Massimo Nordio

Through numerous partnerships they developed projects for some leaders design firms as Venini and Barovier.

After years of experience in close contact with artists and galleries, they decide to voice their own soul and to find their own style.

Ferro brothers' artistic path follows a long technical research to find an individual way of "painting in (or with) glass". Their works are made with multiple fusions of multi-colored glass rods and pre-fused patterns in pretty thick slabs to obtain powerful flat glass paintings. Obviously the cold-work, expecially the battuto, is one of the most important features of their artworks and therefore all their colored glass slabs are finished with deep carving and 3D patterns.
